Being a Bride to be Myself, I know Prior to your wedding, you're might be inundated with "advice" from well-meaning friends and relatives, some of who won't even have been married themselves! The best advice you can get, however, will probably be from brides who've done it before. If you don't know many real-life brides, then read through wedding magazines or websites and you're bound to pick up some excellent tips. Below are some tips I have gotten from friends and relatives who have been in our shoes:
1. Delegate
Involving as many friends as you can will not only help to keep costs down, but it will also help to make your day feel really special. It's wonderful to see your friends bustling around getting things just right for you. Moreover, the less you have to do on your day, the less stress you'll feel and the more you can enjoy yourself.
2. Time out
Make time during the day to be alone with each other. It's a special day for the bride and groom and too often it slips past in a blur with no time out to enjoy it together. The will be a lot of demand for attention from both of you, so make a point of slipping off to a quiet spot for a few moments. Kick off your shoes, sip your champagne, and share your best moments together.
3. Inviting children
Decide together, and early on, whether you're going to include children in the invitations and stick to that decision no matter what reactions are. You'll save yourself a lot of stress that way.
4. Make up
Have your make-up done before the big day by a Professional to see what it will look like and then, if you're not having it done for you on the day, practice at least three or four times to perfect it. You'll be so glad you did when your wedding day rolls around and you're relaxed and comfortable with what you're doing. It's a huge stress-saver.
5. Relax
Above all, try not to worry too much over little details. Your guests will be having far too much fun to notice the small things that might not work exactly as you planned.
